52nd Annual Juried Student Exhibition

Prospectus

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

CATEGORIES (9): Drawing & Works on Paper, Graphic Design, Interactive Media, Painting, Performance, Printmaking, Sculpture, Installation, Video.

ELIGIBILITY: Entrants must be Drake students. All submissions must be original work produced by the student artist within the past two years and must have been produced while enrolled at Drake University. Non-Art & Design majors/minors may submit if work was created in an Art & Design course at Drake.

AWARDS: Awards will be given at the juror’s discretion. The Provost Purchase Award and the President’s Office Gallery Loans will be selected by the Department of Art and Design Faculty.

► ENTRY PROCEDURE

All entries must be submitted through ArtCall.org at this site: https://annualjuriedstudentexhibition.artcall.org

A total of four works may be submitted but no more than three in the same category.

You will need to submit quality images of your work so it can be judged accurately. If you need help photographing your work please contact an Art & Design Faculty.

You will need to make a user profile on ArtCall.org to begin and then you will be able to submit your entry. Each work you submit must be a unique entry on ArtCall. The juror will judge entries anonymously.

► CALL FOR ENTRIES

    January 23- February 10, 2023
Complete an online submission on ArtCall for each piece you wish to enter. Submissions are due by 5pm on Feb 10.

► SELECTION OF WORKS POSTED

Thursday, February 16 by 4:00 PM
Those selected to be in the exhibition will be notified via email. Selected works for the exhibition will be also be posted outside the Art & Design office.

► DELIVERY OF ACCEPTED WORK

To the Anderson Gallery:

Tuesday, February 21, 12 - 5 pm

Wednesday, February 22, 10 am - 4 pm

All works must be ready for hanging/presentation.

• All works on paper must be ready to hang and be presented professionally. This could be a framed, mounted between Plexiglas and foam core, etc. If you are having an issue finding an affordable and quality way to present your work please contact the Gallery Manager for assistance.
• Performances will occur at the opening reception.
• Video and Interactive Media should be submitted on a USB flash drive that is labeled with your name.

All works must be turned in with your printed out confirmation from ArtCall that will list your work ID Number and contact info.

Sunday, March 5 from 1 - 3pm
Awards ceremony at 1:30 pm. Invite your family and friends!

► EXHIBITION CLOSES

Sunday, April 2 at 4:00 pm

(Gallery hours 12 - 4 pm)

► PICK UP OF EXHIBITED WORKS

Monday, April 3, 12 - 4 pm

Tuesday, April 4, 9 - 1 pm
Artists must have a valid I.D. If work is picked up for another artist, that I.D. will be required. Work not picked up will be disposed of.
